Automotive GPS Is Terrific, But The Surveys Are Provoking
September 20th, 2009There are numerous benefits to having a GPS system installed in your car. If you have the bad luck to be in an accident and your automobile is out of view or in a remote location, in this situation rescue crews will be able to find your car in a snap. You may use your GPS car system for finding your way if you get lost. This is particularly useful at night, when the difficulty of being lost is compounded by not being able to see clearly around you.
This writer once lived in the woods in Britain for over three years.
Though I continue to listen to the radio from time to time, I tended to ignore the massive changes going on in real life. I initially heard the alphabet soup term “GPS” while I was still living in America, but always in the context of an army or big law enforcement or rescue agency. If I heard about an automotive GPS in a radio advertisements, I never knew what they were talking about, and failed to care to find out.
Welcome (Back) To America
Moving back to America, I was in for a dreadful culture shock. I avoided watching television as long as I could, but my Mom (who took her wayward child in) loved it, so that the TV was on all the time. I would practically pound my head against the floor just because I couldn’t understand the commercials. My Mom had to help me understand what “bling” meant. That was a touch bit humbling.
At the time, I took PC lessons and tried to get my head together. I definitely needed an automotive GPS system to work out what I was doing. As a lark, I joined many online survey groups. I started getting free samples, and learned what a Garmin Nuvi automotive GPS was. I didn’t have much of a choice I was getting 2 or 3 GPS car tracking surveys a week.
Back In The Saddle Again
I discovered that instead of being bothered by geeky language, automotive GPS dashboard mounted devices were helpful and easily understandable gadgets that would help improve the standard of life. Imagine if the youngsters of Israel had GPS car tracking units strapped to their mules and camels.
They would not have wandered around in the desert for forty years. They would have found the best road to The promised Land before dinner.
People of my generation and younger get so easily lost because it is too perilous to go anywhere. Whenever we plan a road trip, we must allow at least 3 hours to get lost and then find our way again. Think of the waste of gas.
But with an automotive GPS unit, you do not have to waste gas or time to get to your destination. I wonder how much gas is saved just by using automotive GPS units.
If I ever return to the woods, I suspect I’ll take a Garmin Nuvi automotive GPS device with me. Perhaps then I could make better choices about my life.
