Genesis Release Details For 2010 Lineup
August 21st, 2009Genesis have finally released details regarding their upcoming 2010 lineup. Depsite all these bikes being part of the 2010 lineup for Genesis, they are actually being released in September 2009.
It looks like Genesis will be returning to the road bike market with their 2010 bike lineup. The first ones detailed are the Aether 10 and 20 which are the first of the Genesis racing bikes.
Designed mainly for daily commuters, the Aether is perfect for city travel. Both features carbon forks as well as an ALX-9 lightweight, aluminium frame. However, everything comes at a price and this is no exception. The lowest priced model, the Aether 10, costs a penny off £600 and features Shimano 2300 and Sora parts. If you want to go for the Aether 20, this is will cost you another £200. A mix of Sora and Shimano Tiagra parts is what makes up the bike, and the £799.99 price tag.
The next bike up on the list is the Vapour. This model features an ALX-9 6069 aluminium frame and will cost £849.99. Alongside your new lightweight frame, you also get a new front hanger mount, which Genesis says gives you more positive braking.
The final road bike on Genesis’ list is the Flyer. This is a singlespeed bike and features a bunch of stylish looking features. This bike is made from a Reynolds 520 steel frame, with features such as chrome cable clips and a white chain. This beauty of a bike will cost you £599.99, a good price for a city bike. One odd thing about this bike is that is comes with nothing to attach your bike accessories , I guess Genesis must have assumed that if you own one of these, you don’t sweat through your cycle clothing.
The road bikes that Genesis announced were just a taster for the massive number of mountain bike models also detailed. The first one is the Core which comes in two varieties. The cheaper model is the Core 40 for £999.99 and then the higher priced Core 50 for £1,199.99.
The next one up is the Alpitude costing £1,699.99, not to be mistaken with the Altitude, features a Reynolds 853 steel frame, perfect for long trails.
If you’re looking for a relatively cheap mountain bike, the new iO is the best suitted. This bike comes in two different versions, the singlespeed, costing £599.99, or the eight-speed version for £1,099.99. Both versions come with a Reynolds 520 steel frame.
Despite having 5 different models, the Altitude is the final bike in the 2010 lineup. The two cheapest models, the Altitude 00 (£799.99) and the Altitude 10 (£999.99) both come with a Reynolds 520 steel frame. The next one up in the model range and the price range is the Altitude 20. It comes with a Reynolds 853 steel frame and costs a pricey sum of £1,449.99. Skipping the fourth model, the final and most expensive model is the Altitude Ti. This final model features a titanium frame and comes at a staggering £2,799.99.
