Is Expressionism Enjoyed From A Different Viewpoint By Artists Or Art Lovers?…
July 8th, 2009What do we denote by expressionism in the world of painting? Well I will try to give you my perception of this! So an artist in my opinion, I would have to say, that to me for my part, I make an effort to put my emotive way of thinking on to the canvas or paper at the given point in time, although this does not suggest that it has to stay a true interpretation of tangible realism.
Simply the contrary in fact, it truly shows in most cases of expressionism paintings a distinctive viewpoint of authenticity. Thus where do we come across this special category of art you might inquire?
Okay, we can appreciate it in paintings naturally, but in the here and now, it is also to be found in association with music for example, films and the theatre too.
If we get a look at the paintings of Franz Marc for instance, he genuinely makes a candid impact on you. At least he does to me! He was not frightened to use very vibrant, yet solid colours to attain wonderful, powerful also very sensational interpretations in the sphere of his work.
These expressionism’s to the normal human being are awfully arresting. No problem, they undoubtedly make you stare twice, whether you actually love them or not. Although if I am entirely frank you can frequently get the picture of, as it were, of the artist’s moods as well as feelings, I would say, through only using reasonably basic colours then shapes.
One individual piece of Franz Marc’s that I enjoy is “Fighting Forms”, nevertheless there are countless more wherever that came from like “Large Blue Horses’, “Deer In The Woods”, “Fate Of The Animals” and “The Blue Black Fox”.
Next if we look at the workings of El Greco, both a painter as well as a sculptor, who appeared to apply direct movement to demonstrate his way of expressionism. He was an artist, and in all probability the principal one of the period, inside the German expressionist movement. “Assumption Of The Virgin” being one of his most prominent works.
Around the period of the 1950’s Jackson Pollock and David Hockney exploded on to the arena, producing painting which was vivid, gaudy, vulgar even, nevertheless I can just declare that they got whatsoever point across that they were trying to express. I assume it is highly likely that Jackson Pollock may have been prejudiced by El Greco.
Let us not forget Andy Warhol, he certainly made his contribution. One in particular plenty of us can evoke is the Campbells soup tin can paintings!
They dreamt up superb posters, programmes, billboards, and when all’s said and done marvellous marketing campaigns together with their innovative contribution of expressionism. This was talent at its very finest, so enormously concentrated and crammed with sensation. They even put their thoughts across blatantly into the cartoon strips.
These cartoon strips currently, in addition to definitely the film and theatre posters also programmes, would be sure to be sold for a tidy sum within our sale houses.
And all of this really has added a touch of realism to it.
